The collection at the Kunst Museum Winterthur spans the period from the 17th century to the present day. Over the course of time, important historic collections were brought together under the museum’s roof. Various greats are represented – from Rembrandt to Caspar David Friedrich, from Albert Anker and Ferdinand Hodler to the Impressionists, from Pablo Picasso to Gerhard Richter. The experience is rounded off by the excellent temporary exhibitions.

The Winterthur Museum of Art has three locations:
KMW | Beim Stadthaus.
KMW | Reinhart am Stadtgarten.
KMW | Villa Flora.
The museums KMW | Beim Stadthaus and KMW | Reinhart am Stadtgarten are only a 5-minute walk from Winterthur station. However, if you start at KMW | Villa Flora, the walk takes about 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can get off at the “Winterthur, Gewerbeschule” stop.
Opening hours:
KMW | Beim Stadthaus: Tuesday: 10am to 8pm, Wednesday to Sunday: 10am to 5pm, Mondays closed.
KMW | Reinhart am Stadtgarten: Tuesday to Sunday 10am. to 5pm, Thursday 10am to 8pm.
KMW | Villa Flora: Tuesday to Sunday: 10am to 5pm, Wednesday: 10am to 8pm, Mondays closed.
Closed on Mondays (but open on Easter Monday, 6 April 2026 and Whit Monday, 25 May 2026).
Also closed on: Carnival Monday (23 February 2026), Good Friday (3 April 2026), Christmas Day (25 December 2026) and New Year’s Day (1 January 2027).
The Beim Stadthaus Museum will be closed from 1 to 13 June 2026.
During the Albanifest from 26 June to 28 June 2026: Villa Flora is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., while the town house and Reinhart am Stadtgarten are closed.
The museums are wheelchair accessible.
