Offer.
Travel by public transport and benefit from discounts of up to 50% on countless leisure excursions.
A RailAway leisure offer consists of a public transport ticket and a ticket for a leisure attraction, such as admission to a museum or a day pass for skiing. SBB RailAway has RailAway hits and RailAway offers ready for you to enjoy. Depending on the offer, you can save on the leisure attraction, on the public transport ticket or even on both. Find out more:
RailAway hit.
Discover new discounts on popular excursion destinations in Switzerland every month. With our RailAway hits, for short periods, you can benefit from significant discounts: either you receive a discount of up to 50% on the journey by public transport and at least 10% off the ticket for the leisure attraction, or you save up to 50% on the leisure ticket.
Please note: The number of discounted public transport tickets is limited each month. Once the quota for tickets with a 50% discount has been met, the discount is gradually reduced. Once all discounts have been used up, the price reduction no longer applies. Discounted public transport tickets are only available when booking online
RailAway offer.
With RailAway offers, you can enjoy a discount of at least 10% on a wide range of leisure attractions in Switzerland. You can benefit from the discount at any time as long as the offer is still available, unless the desired attraction is currently available as a RailAway hit. Combine with Saver Day Passes or supersaver tickets to travel for even less.
To benefit from the discounts, you must travel to and/or from the leisure destination by public transport.
When you buy a RailAway leisure offer, you book the ticket for the leisure attraction and the ticket for public transport at the same time. Our online booking form conveniently shows you the right ticket options and connections. The discounts will be credited directly to you.
You also have the option of buying the discounted leisure ticket using a public transport ticket or travelcard which you have already purchased.
You can get the discount on the leisure attraction with various different tickets – be it a Point-to-Point Ticket, a travelcard or a supersaver ticket.
A reduction on the price of the public transport ticket is only possible if you purchase both the ticket and the leisure ticket via the RailAway leisure offer.
Online.
Our RailAway leisure offers are available online at leisure.sbb.ch or sbb.ch. You can get both your public transport ticket and your leisure ticket online. Even if you already have a public transport ticket or travelcard, you can still easily purchase the discounted leisure activity on its own.
At the ticket counter.
The most popular RailAway offers can also be purchased directly from staffed ticket counters. You will get both your public transport ticket and your leisure ticket. Even if you already have a public transport ticket or travelcard, you can still purchase the accompanying discounted leisure activity on its own. For RailAway leisure offers, no discounts can be applied to public transport tickets at the ticket counter.
No. RailAway leisure offers are not available via the SBB Mobile or SBB Preview apps. But leisure offers can be purchased on the go using mobile devices. Simply enter the URL leisure.sbb.ch in your browser’s address bar.
Yes. You can also book the leisure offer if you already have a valid ticket or travelcard (e.g. a GA Travelcard, another transport travelcard, a supersaver ticket or a previously purchased Point-to-Point Ticket). This means you can also buy a discounted ticket for the leisure attraction.
Here’s how to buy online:
Add the passenger in the booking form (with SwissPass login or as a guest). Under ‘Edit information’, you can add ‘Discount cards’. Select ‘Other ticket to destination’.
It is important that your ticket or travelcard covers the entire journey from your point of departure to your chosen leisure attraction.
With public transport tickets or travelcards, you can benefit from discounts on the leisure attraction.
For example:
Ordinary Point-to-Point Ticket
Day Pass
Supersaver ticket
Regional Travelcard or GA Travelcard
Please note that certain tickets have to be purchased separately in order to combine them with the leisure offer:
Leisure Travelcard
Special Day Pass
Modular Travelcard
Supersaver Flex Ticket
Companion Travelcard
Day Pass for Friends
Companion Day Pass
Day Pass for Children
Duo Day Pass
The additional discount on public transport tickets for selected RailAway hits is not available for tickets purchased separately. For more information on this, see ‘Which public transport tickets cannot be discounted with a RailAway hit?’
Certain tickets are part of the saver range and are therefore already heavily discounted. RailAway hits cannot reduce the price of these tickets any further.
The following tickets are not eligible for discounts:
Tickets purchased separately
Day Pass for Children
Supersaver tickets and Saver Day Passes
Supersaver Class Upgrades
Day Pass for Friends
LIEmobil tickets
Vorarlberg/Ostwind transport network combined tickets
Hegau-Bodensee/Ostwind transport network combined tickets
Subject to change.
Yes. The Junior Travelcard and the Children’s Co-Travelcard are also valid. Add the passenger in the booking form (with SwissPass login or as a guest). Under ‘Edit information’, you can add ‘Discount cards’. Select ‘Other ticket to destination’.
Certain offers are free with the Junior Travelcard and therefore do not require a ticket.
For some offers, it is already possible to load the leisure ticket onto your SwissPass card. You can see whether this function is available for an offer during the purchase process:
Sign in to the booking form using your SwissPass login and enter your journey details.
Once you have logged in, you will have the option of loading your ticket onto your SwissPass card during the booking process. To do so, please check the field ‘Acquisition type’.
Please note that the loaded tickets are only available on the SwissPass card. You cannot access them via the digital SwissPass, e.g. in the SBB Mobile app.
You can find important information on how to load ski passes onto your SwissPass card during the winter season under ‘Snow’n’Rail – Can I load a ski pass onto my SwissPass?’
The Half Fare Travelcard PLUS cannot be used as a payment method for RailAway leisure offers. To still benefit from the discount on the leisure attraction, please proceed as follows:
Buy your public transport ticket at SBB.ch or on SBB Mobile. You can use the Half Fare Travelcard PLUS as a payment method here in the usual way. On SBB.ch and SBB Mobile, you cannot receive a discount on the public transport ticket as part of the RailAway leisure offer.
You can then book the leisure offer on leisure.sbb.ch. Add the passenger in the booking form (with SwissPass login or as a guest). Under ‘Edit information’, you can add ‘Discount cards’. Select ‘Other ticket to destination’.
To shop on leisure.sbb.ch, a standard payment method, such as a credit card, is required.

You can easily redeem your voucher code during the purchase process. Proceed as follows:
Select your desired leisure offer on leisure.sbb.ch. Please note that certain voucher codes are only valid for selected offers.
Enter your travel dates and add the offer to the shopping basket.
Click on 'Enter promotion code’ in the shopping basket.
Enter the voucher code.
The discount is displayed immediately in the basket and automatically deducted from the purchase price. You can complete the purchase as usual.
You can redeem SBB RailAway voucher codes for numerous offers on leisure.sbb.ch. However, in some cases, advertising campaigns or mailings restrict the validity of voucher codes for specific offers. These voucher codes are therefore only valid for selected leisure offers. Further information on the redemption conditions can be found on the respective campaign pages.
For technical reasons, coupon codes cannot be credited towards the following leisure offers:
Animal’n’Rail Zurich Zoo.
Explore’n’Rail FIFA Museum.
RailCoaster.
Europa-Park.
Please note that cash payments or refunds are not possible. Any remaining amounts expire after use. Resale or trading with third parties is prohibited.
It could be for one of the following reasons:
In some cases, advertising campaigns or mailings restrict the validity and voucher codes can only be redeemed for defined leisure offers. Please check the conditions of the voucher code and the item in your basket.
You have entered the code incorrectly. Please check your voucher code and enter it again. Please also note that the code is case-sensitive.
The voucher code has been used up or the promotion has expired. The voucher code can therefore no longer be used.
For technical reasons, voucher codes cannot be credited for some RailAway leisure offers. You can find all leisure offers for which your voucher code is valid on the promotional page.
The public transport tickets sold via freizeit.sbb.ch/en are already VAT-compliant. You can request a separate receipt for leisure tickets from the SBB Contact Center. For data security reasons, the details in your request must match the data in the booking. Please include the following information in the request:
Order number
Designation of the booked RailAway leisure offer (for example «Animal’n’Rail Zurich Zoo»)
Name of the person making the booking
Invoice address specified during the booking process
Names of the travellers specified during the booking process
SBB Contact Center tel. 0848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/Min.) (from 7am to 9pm, 7 days a week; waiting times sometimes to be expected)
Snow’n’Rail.
Snow’n’Rail offers are available exclusively online at leisure.sbb.ch.
You can load ski tickets for many winter sports resorts onto your SwissPass card. Find out whether you can load your chosen ski pass onto your SwissPass card under ‘Acquisition type’ in the booking form.
Useful information:
The loaded tickets are only available on the SwissPass card. You cannot access them via the digital SwissPass, e.g. in the SBB Mobile app.
The ski pass cannot be used until five minutes after you have received the order confirmation.
SwissPass cards issued from December 2021 to May 2023 do not work for some mountain lifts or railways. It is not possible to pass through the turnstile. We recommend using an alternative method to purchase your ski ticket if your card has a date of issue within this period.
Older SwissPass cards (with a white bar) and cards issued from June 2023 (with ‘2.2’ marked on the back) are not affected by this restriction and function normally.
SwissPass.
If you have a SwissPass, you can load your ski pass directly onto your SwissPass card for most offers. You can find useful information about this under the question ‘Can I load a ski pass onto my SwissPass?’
Ticket collection.
If you do not have a SwissPass, simply select the option ‘Pick-up’ under ‘Acquisition type’ in the booking form to pick your ski pass up directly from a ticket machine or point of sale at the relevant mountain lift or railway. If you want to pick up your ski pass from a machine, either scan the QR code on your order confirmation or enter your order confirmation number.
The discount is calculated based on the first day of validity of the ski pass. For ski passes that are valid for several days (e.g. a 2 or 6-day ski pass), the discount on the first day of validity applies, even if the entire validity period extends over different discount periods.
Yes. The outward and return journeys by public transport are valid for a period of seven days before and after your day of skiing. For the Snow’n’Rail offer, please select the days on which you would like the ski pass to be valid as well as suitable connections for your arrival and return by public transport.
The ski ticket cannot be transferred. Exceptions to this are set out in the GTCs. You can find more information on exchanges and refunds under ‘Help with refunds for RailAway leisure offers’ in the FAQs.
