1.5 times around the globe: that’s how far Switzerland’s network of hiking trails would stretch.
At over 65,000 kilometres, Switzerland’s network of hiking trails is one of the successes of the Swiss Hiking Trail Federation and its 26 specialist cantonal organisations. Since 1934, the Federation has been campaigning for attractive, safe and uniformly signposted hiking trails and inspiring a broad audience with its hiking suggestions, events and publications. These services are only possible thanks to the commitment of 2,000 volunteers and the support of members, patrons and companies.
