Sunnbüel–Gemmi Pass hike.

Following in the steps of the muleteers.

The Gemmi was once the most frequently crossed pass in the Alps. Today it is a popular hiking destination.

An old muleteer trail connects Sunnbüel above Kandersteg in the canton of Bern with the Gemmi in Valais. This historic pass takes you along the lakes of Arvensee and Daubensee through a unique Alpine landscape. Food and drink are available at the start and end of the hike, as well as at the halfway point at Hotel Schwarenbach. The hike takes around three hours.
